Alabama State University, Division of Student Affairs, invites applications to fill the position of Assistant Living-Learning Program Coordinator. Under guidance of the Living-Learning Program Coordinator, the selected candidate will help manage, as well as implement short- and long-rang organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, related to a first-year living –learning programing in two residential halls (one male and one female).
Duties and Responsibilities:- Work closely with the Living-Learning Program Coordinator and (5) Student Assistants to ensure proper implementation and documentation of policies and procedures which will support a living-learning program in one male, and female residence hall
- Assist in coordinating a living-learning program, which includes budget management, recruiting faculty; supervising faculty in and out of the residence hall; selecting, training, and supervising Student Assistants; program assessment; and policy and procedures development
- Work collaboratively with other University departments to provide residents with opportunities to enhance academic excellence, and cultivate a passion for learning both inside and outside of the classroom, via study, and computer labs
- Responsible for coordinating efforts with departments to support the program development of the living-learning program including:
- Managing relationships between campus and external partners
- Interacting regularly with academic Colleges to advance marketing, advising, and credit bearing courses
- Consulting with Academic Advisement and retention
- Presenting a New Student Orientation
- Working with various campus offices for faculty planning sessions and regular educational development that will support student learning
- Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of Higher Education is required. This position requires a flexible working schedule to include some evenings and weekends, and be available for some domestic travel.
