The University of South Alabama’s department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Technologist I. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts complex and varied laboratory analyses and experiments requiring chemical knowledge.
  • Performs complex physical and chemical analyses of laboratory samples.
  • Prepares and characterizes specialized aqueous ionic amine solutions and related mixtures.
  • Prepares CO2-loaded lean and rich samples and mixed-salt solution systems.
  • Measures solution properties including viscosity, density, heat capacity, and concentration trends.
  • Evaluates CO2-loading-dependent property changes in laboratory samples.
  • Analyzes resulting data using quantitative and qualitative techniques.
  • Prepares reports of findings as directed; work reviewed by PI for results obtained.
  • Records physical and chemical changes during laboratory work.
  • Consults with PI/project leader on procedures and evaluation of collected data.
  • Assists PI in designing experimental protocols and training lower-level staff.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as required.
